THE MEEDTUBE+ FIELD GUIDE

Manage Shorts on your Android TV

Shorts visibility and playback are separate choices. Configure the places you browse, then decide how short videos should repeat.

Hide Shorts from browsing

  1. Open Settings, then General. Find Hide content or Hide videos.
  2. Review the Shorts options for Home, subscriptions, channels, search and history. Choose the areas you want to hide, or the everywhere option if available.
  3. Return to browsing and reopen the area. Refresh or restart the app if a previously loaded row remains visible.
  4. Check a channel and search results separately: they can use different content types and preferences.

Change repeat and remote behavior

Look in Player settings for Shorts repeat or skip preferences. Visibility settings do not necessarily change an already playing Short. Test directional skip controls with your own remote.

Menu labels vary across versions. If a control is absent, record your version instead of assuming another app’s instructions apply to yours.

Check the result

  1. Change one preference at a time.
  2. Compare Home, a channel and search after leaving Settings.
  3. Open a Short intentionally and check what happens at its end.
  4. Restore the original choice if preferred. Report a remaining shelf with your device, app version and the exact screen.

Know the scope

These choices affect Meedtube+ itself. They do not change the official YouTube app, other phone apps or every recommendation on your Google account. Shorts controls are browsing preferences, not an age restriction or device-wide parental boundary.
