Set up sponsor skipping on Android TV

Start with one segment category, choose an action and check that the choice persists before changing the rest.

Choose an action for each category

  1. Open Meedtube+ Settings and find SponsorBlock or CleanWatch. Labels vary by version and language.
  2. Enable the feature. Select Sponsors and choose no action, skip, skip with a message, or ask with a dialog from the available options.
  3. Press Back, reopen the category and confirm the selected action is still shown.
  4. Play a video with known community segments. Use the prompt if you selected the dialog action. Repeat for Intro or Preview / Recap only if desired.

Understand what gets skipped

Sponsors are paid promotions inside a video. Intros and Preview / Recap are separate categories. One setting does not configure all of them. Highlights are jump points rather than intervals to remove.

Community timestamps may be missing or inaccurate. CleanWatch is not a content-safety filter, and sponsor skipping does not establish that every platform advertisement is blocked.

When a segment is not skipped

  1. Confirm the feature is enabled and the category has a skip or prompt action.
  2. Check whether the current channel is excluded.
  3. Review any minimum-segment-duration preference: short segments may be ignored.
  4. Try another video. The segment service may be unavailable or the community may not have submitted timestamps.
  5. For a dialog that will not respond or a choice that does not persist, record the device, app version, category and exact action for Support.
